In this Senior Product Designer Role You Will:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process and ship features across mobile and web platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to influence the product from conception to execution through a user-centered approach.
  • Work iteratively to define problems and quickly find solutions.
  • Speak with customers frequently to collect data, test prototypes and translate research insights into meaningful outcomes.
  • Facilitate design sprints and workshops to develop high-quality solutions.
  • Craft intuitive design flows, sketches, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI for mobile and web.
  • Help evolve and grow the design practice at GameChanger. Contribute to our design system, be vocal in design critiques, share inspirational resources, and aid in brainstorms.

Applicant Requirements:

  • You’ve been designing user-centered experiences for at least 5 years.
  • You’ve designed and shipped native iOS and Android apps.
  • Your portfolio isn’t just high-fidelity mockups; you show processes, sketches, collaboration, and reflection. You have at least two detailed case studies.
  • You’ve taken large problems and broken them down into bite-sized measurable chunks.
  • You have experience conducting user research, facilitating user interviews and user tests, digging through data, and synthesizing findings to identify trends and make recommendations.
  • You advocate for design by articulating and presenting the rationale behind your ideas.
  • You care about moving your team forward and look for ways to positively impact the team, not just the product.
  • You’re focused on results and constantly looking for ways to improve the user experience.
  • You take the time to seek out and provide meaningful feedback because you know it’s the best way to grow.

Hotjar is a flourishing startup that gives thousands of website owners, teams, and professionals the tools needed to discover how their visitors are really using their sites. 

In this Product Designer You Will:

  • Lead the visual and interaction design of building blocks and UI patterns that make up the Hotjar user interface.
  • Identify, prioritize, and monitor task, progress of design, development, and documentation across team members.
  • Partner with 12+ designers across multiple squads to come up with solutions that consider and prioritize our design debt, design dependencies, and that support teams building UI at scale.
  • Be a bridge with our Brand Design team, introducing our brand character into the personality of our building blocks. Keep agreement and a single brand identity across organizations.
  • Work with software engineers to ensure our designed components are in-sync with React components. Consider technical constraints to always bring incremental value.
  • Work with Experience Design leadership to provide a consistent experience in all our Hotjar touch-points, while allowing the team to design at scale.

Applicant Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in product design and user-centric practices. You’ve built and managed at least a couple of design systems and have deep experience in the field.
  • Solid experience writing component documentation. Your strength is to partner and solve requirements across different teams and designers while educating how to build UI at scale.
  • A mastery in Figma and additional design tools that allow modern design teams to develop a design system.
  • Experience guiding deliverables across groups, multiple squads, and tribes.
  • Are a visual and interaction designer, who provides detailed component behavior states that are both accessible and that can solve complex design problems. You understand technical constraints and can make trade-offs.
  • A natural inclination to always think MVP first.
  • Experience leading user testing sessions and validating design efforts. You put the user in the center of the interaction model you build for our components library.
