Why We Started PestRoutes

Several years ago, we were searching for the right software for managing a pest control office to connect our sales module that we built for sales team. We looked and looked for something that was cloud-based, mobile friendly, and actually would make the life of our customers easier. We were SHOCKED to find nothing that met our customer expectations.

We kept thinking to ourselves, “why doesn’t someone make something that the customers would love?” Finally, we realized it was up to us. Since then we have dedicated our lives to creating the world’s greatest software for managing pest control offices—and we have succeeded!

What You’ll Be Working On

You will be working on a platform that runs a field service company B2E. Your work will impact every part of the customer lifecycle including sales, marketing, scheduling, CRM, billing, mobile field service applications, communication (SMS, email, voice, snail mail, push notifications, etc…), credit card processing, reporting, customer portals, reviews, and more! We work with dozens of APIs and frameworks and are truly a platform on which our customers utilize as their primary and central tool.

PestRoutes is currently rebuilding our Mobile Applications. After our MVP is launched you’ll continue to implement new features, improve existing functionality, fixing bugs, and creating documentation for our internal team as well as our customers.

This Role: Mobile Applications Engineer

We collaborate with the customer success team and technical support to define the most needed areas of improvement. Your job will focus on implementing the features and functionality assigned to you from our CTO who will set the priorities in collaboration with these teams. These assignments range between bug fixes, new reports, an assortment of new features, and code improvements.

The platforms are diverse between mobile, desktop, customer-facing, and internal use. What you do here matters and will be used by thousands of people. It is therefore extremely important that code is not only tested and bug-free, but also maintains our standards of quality so that we can continue to be the best pest control software in the world. There will be a lot of complex and hairy problems we will ask you to solve under tight deadlines. We expect you to not only solve these problems but to solve them well.

Our standard workweek is Monday - Friday, and our office is open between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm or 9:00 am and 6:00 pm.

How You’ll Be Compensated

We believe in fair compensation, depending on your skill and experience, you can expect to make somewhere between $90,000 and $140,000 annually upon joining the company. We have an excellent health plan available to our employees, and we cover 100% of the cost of the premium of a Blue Cross Blue Shield Bronze PPO plan for our each of our employees. You can also elect to pay for an upgrade to the plan we offer and to cover dependents.

Additional Perks: Twice a month we will either all go out as a team to lunch or dinner or cater a meal into the office. This helps us all take a breath and build team unity. We also provide an assortment of free drinks and snacks in the office for your enjoyment.

Holidays / Paid Time Off - We offer 10 paid vacation days + the following holidays: Memorial Day, President’s Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Christmas (3 days), New Years, Thanksgiving (2 days). PTO is accumulated and increases by two days per year, up to a max of 20 days PTO.

We also offer 5 sick days per calendar year to cover personal or immediate family health concerns.

This position is on-site.

Currently, the PestRoutes staff works full-time in McKinney, TX. When you start working at PestRoutes, you’ll pair with our development team rebuilding the mobile app, to learn the ropes of the product and code-base, third-party integrations, deployment, business decisions, etc.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years expert level React Native
  • 3+ years expert level working with mobile apps that have offline capabilities
  • 1+ year with iOS native development. We use native code for few features integrated with React Native app
  • 1+ year with Android native development. We use native code for few features integrated with React Native app
  • 3+ Ability to implement complex and core features into a mature code base
  • Strong knowledge of mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect to back-end service
  • Proven ability to track down, solve, and release solutions to bugs and issues
  • Experience with version control and deployment strategies
  • High attention to detail and ability to take responsibility for core changes
  • Passion for development and high desire to release code
  • Experience with Realm or SQLite databases
