As the Head of Design you’ll be leading a group of world class designers, across our product design, communications and user research teams as we continually evolve our products in a way that delights our customers and welcomes more people to the platform.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to define and execute on our design strategy
  • Build, manage and lead a world-class design team ensuring they’re well directed, motivated, supported, productive and engaged in their work
  • Play an active role in shaping the FreeAgent brand, and how this is reflected across our website, products and other comms material
  • Work with senior leadership to refine our design processes, including discovery, design, build and measurement
  • Provide context, support and guidance and foster an inclusive culture of continuous improvement as the team works towards the company objectives
  • Champion the work of the design team and raise its profile within and outside the organisation

Ideally, you’ll have

  • You have experience of managing a team of 5+ designers, ideally within a product environment
  • You can demonstrate a track record of successfully leading a design team, ensuring it collaborates effectively with other teams and departments to deliver company objectives
  • You are passionate about the value of design, building great products and solving customers problems
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment but embrace accountability
  • You have experience of using a combination of qualitative and quantitative data to drive design decisions and measure the impact of your team’s work
  • You are curious and always open to learn from others
  • You demonstrate good business acumen and can comfortably interact with customers, partners and vendors

Work environment

This is a full time permanent position, working from our stunning offices at Edinburgh Quay (convenient for Haymarket station and airport links). We encourage continual self-development and hold bi-annual company hack days. We work smarter, not harder, and try to have fun doing it!
