About the Digital Infrastructure (DevOps) Engineer position
theta. is looking for a passionate, different-thinking Digital Infrastructure (DevOps) Engineer looking to be of service to the public good who will help build, maintain, and troubleshoot our client’s rapidly expanding digital infrastructure. You will join our talented team of engineers who deliver mission-critical infrastructure and ensure the highest availability, performance, and security levels.
We expect you to have a background in system administration, cloud engineering, or systems engineering and analysis. We also expect you to demonstrate superb technical competency and strong teamwork skills in small, fast, agile team environments.
Besides that, we expect you to be a good team player and find optimal ways to solve problems.
U.S. Citizenship, Green Card, or EAD required.
Digital Infrastructure (DevOps) responsibilities are:
Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure
Organize the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, acting proactively
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with the help of developers
Oversee our client’s security, backup, and redundancy strategies
Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems
Work together with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Digital Infrastructure (DevOps) Engineer requirements are:
5+ years’ experience of working in a Digital Infrastructure (DevOps) Engineer position
Substantial experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux-based environments (Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS, Fedora, Amazon Linux, etc…)
Good experience in administering and performance tuning of application stacks (LAMP/MEAN/etc…) with technologies such as Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX, and others
Good experience with Cloud platforms (AWS is preferred, GovCloud experience a plus) and virtualization (including such products as KVM, VMware, Virtual Box, and others)
Good experience with automation software (such as Salt, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, etc.) and monitoring systems (Cloudwatch, New Relic, etc…)
Strong automation scripting skills (e.g., bash, python, YAML, etc…)
Excellent knowledge of networking technologies, particularly with OSI network layers and TCP/IP
Agile Software Team Experience
Salary Range: $100,000 – $151,000
